What To Do When You Feel Like You Just Can’t

disclaimer- I want to say above all, one must give their lives to Jesus to feel relief from the overwhelming weight of sin.

If you are not saved, know that you are a prime candidate for salvation! God LOVES you!

* This post was written with the christian mother & wife in mind, who has been facing the stresses of everyday life and telling herself she just can’t get anything done anymore.

May God bless you through your reading.

I do not have any special schedule or morning routine that will magically tell you exactly what to do when you feel like you just can’t go on, but I do have a biblical view, that if applied, can completely change your thinking, resulting in less of those overwhelming feelings of failure.

If you are still reading I’d say you have, at some point of time, felt like you just “can’t”. You know that one day you declare that you just “can’t” get everything done, you can’t stand another minute of this chaos, you “can’t” get the house clean, you just “can’t -can’t- cant” and before long, you really began to believe yourself.

Does it surprise you when every last drop of strength and motivation, you seemed to previously have, quickly seeps away?

It’s almost as if you are laying in your own pity & stress wallowing around as a hog does in the mud, but in reality, you ain’t enjoying yourself near as much as that hog does. So, if it’s not enjoyable, why do we do it?

I am no scholar but my husband and I were discussing some spiritual topics recently and my husband made the statement that our lives, thinking, and mindset are often effected by the words of our mouth.

Thou art snared with the words of thy mouth, thou art taken with the words of thy mouth.

— Proverbs 6:2 (KJV)

My mind quickly raced to my everyday life and the discouragement I had been feeling of late at accomplishing my everyday task.

I have often caught myself using negative statements such as “I can’t” or

“ I’ll never be able too” lately.

I also noticed my mood has been greatly affected by these feelings of failure and discouragement.

It never occurred to me, until that moment, that the largest part of my emotional battle was being fed by the words I had been using. I was literally feeding my doubts, fears, anxieties , and insecurities, by acknowledging, encouraging, and confirming them with my own words. True, the devil very well may have planted these thoughts, but I was feeding them instead of rooting them up.

Trash The SEED OF Lies &

PLANT The Truth

The truth is, I am a child of God. I know I am in God’s will, and with that settled, I with God’s strength, CAN DO it, no matter the IT.

How do I know this?

I can do all things through Christ who strengtheneth me. Philippians 4:13

With this fact set straight, I now can state the truth and disregard any lies the devil has slipped into my thinking.

My words should acknowledge truth only

and the truth is,

With God…

You Are Not A Failure

For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief. Proverbs 24:6

You Are Not Alone

…for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

Hebrews 13:5 (KJV)

You Are Not Lacking

Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency [is] of God;

2 Corinthians 3:5 (KJV)

You Will Be Sustained

Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.

Psalm 55:22

You Are Provided For

But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ

Philippians 4:19 (KJV)

You Have Strength

And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. 2 Cor 12:9

You Have Hope

Happy [is he] that [hath] the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope [is] in the LORD his God

Psalm 146:5 (KJV)

You Do Not Have To Live In Fear

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

2 Timothy 1:7 (KJV)

You Can Have A Life Full Of Joy

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence [is] fulness of joy; at thy right hand [there are] pleasures for evermore.

Psalm 16:11 (KJV)

You Can Have Perfect Peace

Thou wilt keep [him] in perfect peace, [whose] mind [is] stayed [on thee]: because he trusteth in thee.

Isaiah 26:3 (KJV)

You Have A Purpose

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Jeremiah 29:11 (KJV)

You Have Value

But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than manysparrows.

Luke 12:7 (KJV)

You Can Do All Things

I just can do all things through Christ who strengtheneth me. Philippians 4:13

You Can Have Abundant Life

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have [it] more abundantly.

John 10:10

Once we can see the truth again, we can focus on our situation with a new light and with purpose, WITH GOD.

In Closing

If you found yourself feeling discouraged a lot lately, I encourage you to check your words and your thoughts and to reset your focus on Christ .

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things [are] honest, whatsoever things [are] just, whatsoever things [are] pure, whatsoever things [are] lovely, whatsoever things [are] of good report; if [there be] any virtue, and if [there be] any praise, think on these things.

Philippians 4:8 (KJV)

There are so many things in God’s word that will help you through your day! I encourage you to read it for yourself, every day. God’s words has all of the answers, it’s up to us to read them, learn them, and hide them in our hearts.

Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

Psalm 119:11 (KJV)

Did You Know?

Did you know you can read the entire KJV bible through in one year by just reading 23 chapters a week?

That may sound like a lot, but if you break it down it’s less then 4 chapters a day.

You can break it up in several different ways , for example..

Plan A

Mon-Sat= 3 Chapters

Sunday = 5 Chapters

Plan B

Mon-Fri = 4 Chapters

Sat-Sun= 2 Chapters
